Odin's knowing...
Some babies come into the world with a special look in their eyes, well this is one of them. With the storms exploding around him in what seems to be a very chaotic world this baby is very calm and determined. I have been working on my house moving rooms around again and starting fresh for the umpteenth time. Odin entered this new landscape without skipping a beat and went straight for the new playroom. How could he have known? I have never had toys in the little space that used to be off limits with art things, paintings, tubes of paint and jars of turpentine. How did he know to help himself to the center of this off the main drag room and start enjoying this new haven. I can only think that he sensed it. The love that I put in it as my tired body swept and carried and strategically placed the toys. Or he had felt the determination of my wanting to make this a special place. When you are around children, if you allow that peripheral vision, the kind that does not look at something dead on but uses a different sense. A sense of deep knowing. You can see the special trait, the gift, the bit of magic that is unique to the child that you are not observing but knowing. Odin's gift, as it bubbles up, seems to be a very strong intuition. Deep and thoughtful.
